Meerkat

With their upright posture, active lifestyle, and various vocalizations, meerkats are a comical presence in the deserts and grasslands of southern Africa. They live in groups known as mobs, gangs, or clans in underground burrows.

A meerkat starts its day with a warming bask in the sun before moving on to forage for insects, spiders, and scorpions; sometimes snakes, small mammals, and eggs.
