American Pika

So cute that it might have been the model for Pikachu, the pika is a short-eared and short-legged relative of hares and rabbits.

About 30 species of pikas inhabit mountains or high meadows and steppes in North America and Eurasia. Some species live among rocks, while others construct burrows.
