About the Red Panda

There’s no other animal on Earth quite like the red panda. This cat-sized mammal has the sharp teeth of a carnivore, but dines on plants (mostly bamboo). You might think the giant panda is its close cousin. They roam some of the same forests in Southern China, but the red panda is more closely related to raccoons.

Curious about this solitary tree-dweller? Take a closer look at the adorable “firefox.”
