Some people are disgusted by, even afraid of, bugs and worms.
The truth is that, while they look gross, and can even be very scary, they can also be fascinating in nature.
For example, did you know that many species of ants tend to work together year-round, so that they can have plenty of food and shelter during the winter?
This is why we see them collecting crumbs at our Spring picnics!
Also, bumblebees collect pollen from flowers to take to their hive, so they can make the honey we love to taste!
Spiders, while they look scary, usually will not bother you unless they feel threatened!
Also, like ants, spiders sometimes work together, building communal cobwebs to live together and share their harvests of yummy flies!
And worms might be slimy and gross, but did you know that they help increase the amount of air and moisture in our gardens?
See?
I told you bugs and worms could be fascinating!
Even some are pretty, like a shiny red ladybug!
Dragonflies are pretty harmless as well, long as we don’t try to harm them!
They are also very pretty, and come in beautiful colors in our own backyard!
Imagine that!
